Terms of Use
Effective date: November 2, 2026
Last updated: November 2, 2026
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Cortado Group, LLC, a District of Columbia limited liability company ("Cortado Group," "we," "us" or "our"). They govern your use of our website at cortadogroup.com, including its pages, content, downloads and password-protected client pages, and of the self-assessments we offer, including those run on our assessment provider's platform (together, the "Site").
By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
These Terms cover the Site only. Consulting services are provided under a signed engagement agreement with each client. If anything in these Terms conflicts with a signed engagement agreement between Cortado Group and your organization, the signed engagement agreement controls.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Changes apply from the date we post them, and your continued use of the Site after that date means you accept them.
2. Who may use the Site
The Site is intended for business professionals. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.
3. Your permission to use our content
We own or license the content on the Site, including text, articles, white papers, research, case studies, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, page design and the selection and arrangement of all of it (the "Content"). The Content is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark and other laws.
You may view the Site and download or print a reasonable number of copies of the Content for your own internal business or personal reference, as long as you keep all copyright and other notices intact and do not change the Content. Gated content such as white papers and templates is for your internal use and may not be resold, republished or redistributed. You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts with attribution to Cortado Group and a link to the source page.
Any other use of the Content, including copying, republishing, framing, mirroring, distributing, selling, creating derivative works or using it to provide a competing service, requires our prior written permission. Write to info@cortadogroup.com. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
4. Trademarks
"Cortado Group," the Cortado Group logo, and the names of our frameworks, assessments and programs are trademarks or service marks of Cortado Group, LLC, whether or not registered. Other names and logos on the Site belong to their owners and are used for identification only. Nothing on the Site grants you a license to use any trademark. Without our written permission, you may not use our name or marks to suggest that we endorse you, your products or your views.
5. Things you may not do
You agree not to:
- use the Site in a way that violates any law or anyone's rights;
- use bots, crawlers, scrapers or other automated means to access or copy the Site or the Content, except for search engines indexing public pages in accordance with our robots.txt file;
- try to get around any access restriction, password or security feature, or probe or test the Site's vulnerability;
- interfere with the Site's operation, for example by overloading it, introducing malicious code or spam, or submitting false information through our forms;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation when you contact us or sign in;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other notice; or
- use the Site to send unsolicited commercial messages or to build marketing lists.
We may limit or block access to the Site for anyone we reasonably believe has broken these rules.
6. Insights, case studies and self-assessments are not advice
The Content is general information about go-to-market strategy and execution. It is not consulting, legal, financial, investment, accounting, tax or other professional advice, and it is not tailored to your situation. Reading the Site, downloading Content, taking a self-assessment or contacting us does not make you a client of Cortado Group. Do not rely on the Content to make business or investment decisions without appropriate professional advice.
Case studies describe the experience of specific clients at specific times. Results depend on many factors, and past results do not predict future ones. We leave out some client names and details for confidentiality. Testimonials reflect the opinions of the people quoted; no one was paid for a testimonial.
Our self-assessments produce an indicative score based only on your answers. They are a conversation starter, not a diagnosis.
Content may contain inaccuracies or become out of date. We may change or remove Content at any time without notice. Opinions in guest articles and podcast appearances belong to their authors or speakers.
7. Gated content, forms and communications
When you fill in a form on the Site, you agree to give accurate information. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use it. By requesting gated content, registering for an event or asking us to contact you, you agree that we may contact you about your request by email or phone. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time. Giving us a phone number is not consent to marketing calls or text messages.
8. Ideas and feedback you send us
If you send us ideas, suggestions, feedback or other material that is not part of a client engagement (for example, through the contact form or by email), you agree that it is not confidential and that we may use it for any purpose without obligation to you. Please do not send us your own or anyone else's confidential information through the Site. This Section does not apply to personal information, which our Privacy Policy describes, or to anything covered by a signed engagement agreement.
9. Links to other sites and third-party content
The Site links to other websites and services, including LinkedIn, podcast platforms, event partners and our clients' sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or terms. A link does not mean we endorse the site.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy at cortadogroup.com/privacy describes what personal information we collect through the Site and how we use it.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and the Content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cortado Group disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, that the Site or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components, or that the Content is accurate, complete or current. You use the Site at your own risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cortado Group and its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, agents, successors and assigns will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Site, the Content or these Terms, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Site, the Content or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred US dollars (US $100) and (b) the amount, if any, you paid us for access to the Site in the 12 months before the claim arose. These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, and they do not limit either party's obligations under a signed engagement agreement, which has its own terms.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Cortado Group and its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, agents, successors and assigns from any third-party claim, and any resulting loss, liability, damage, cost or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site or the Content.
14. Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Site, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia. Nothing in this Section changes the dispute-resolution terms of any signed engagement agreement.
15. Electronic communications
When you use the Site, submit a form or email us, you are communicating with us electronically, and you agree that agreements, notices and other communications we provide electronically satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing.
16. General terms
- Entire agreement. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Cortado Group about the Site and replace any earlier terms for the Site. They do not replace any signed engagement agreement between Cortado Group and your organization.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the unenforceable part will be modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Survival. Section 3 (as to our ownership of the Content) and Sections 4 to 6, 8 and 11 to 16 survive any termination of your access to the Site.
